INTERN – ACCESS TO JUSTICE PROGRAMME

Established in 1959, the Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) is a non-governmental, non-partisan and not for profit making membership organization registered in Kenya.  With a membership drawn from the Bar as well as the bench, it is a National Section of the International Commission of Jurists whose headquarters is in Geneva.  It is however autonomous from the ICJ Geneva.  The primary mission of the organization is to promote and protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
ICJ Kenya seeks to recruit an intern to work in its Access to Justice Programme with requirements as listed below and hereby invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the position of Intern, Access to Justice Programme.

Tasks
  1. Assist the programme officer in conceptualizing and developing project ideas and proposals.
  2. Assist in managing and coordinating the implementation of Programme activities.
  3. Assist in the preparation of periodic reports for donors and internal  use
  4. Assist in the preparation of publications under the programme.
  5. Assist in the administrative duties of programme.
  6. Liaising with the Programme Officer, the programme teams or the Executive Director on areas of program mandate.

Qualification
  • Candidates must be a holder of a law Degree, must have completed pupilage and awaiting admission to the Bar.
  • Experience working with a non-governmental organisation will be an added advantage.
  • The candidate must have computer skills
