Job description
- Prepare, collect and distribute relative information from GSR for WLS completion design.
- Manage & analyze CBL logs to perform perforation and fracturing jobs safely.
- Check and control safety & technical accuracy of all data
- Follow up drilling , logging progress for each well and assure completion on time
- Design & optimize fracturing program with WLS team and contractor representative.
- Monitor & control fracturing operation quality on wellsite
- Analyze frac data & diagnose frac results
- Follow up delivery and inventory of proppant and other consumables
- Prepare relative technical documents of fracturing
- Maintenance & update Fracturing reports and program in database
Required skills
Education
- Bachelor degree in Petroleum Geology /Engineering background
Experience
- Beginner
- Oversea experience is preferred

FAWE is a pan-African Non Governmental Organisation founded in 1992 to promote girls’ and women’s education in sub-Saharan Africa in line with Education For All. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, FAWE has a network of 35 National Chapters operating across Africa.

FAWE's mission is to promote gender equity and equality in education in Africa by fostering positive policies, practices and attitudes towards girls’ education. FAWE's internship programme

In its 2008-2012 Strategic Plan, FAWE instituted an internship programme to encourage young graduates and university students who and are interested in gaining practical experience in their field of study. Interns provide support to specific FAWE units according to identified needs.

FAWE encourages the placement of interns at its Regional Secretariat in Nairobi and in National Chapter Secretariats.

Interns may be of any nationality or gender as long as the engagement is mutually beneficial to the intern and the requesting organisational unit, and thus to FAWE.

Background
UNDP Somalia Country Office, based in Nairobi, is looking for interns in various disciplines. Required Skills and Experience
Status
  • Interns are considered gratis personnel. They are not staff members.
  • Interns may not be sought or accepted as substitutes for staff to be recruited against authorized posts.
  • Interns may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
  • Interns’ Expenses
  • Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP.
  • All costs connected with an intern's participation in the Programme must be borne by:
  • the nominating institution, related institution or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students;
  • the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his/her own arrangements for travel (including to and from the office), visas, accommodation, etc.
  • Insurance
UNDP accepts no responsibility for the medical and life insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during an internship. As interns are not covered under any insurance, including MAIP, they should not travel to hazardous locations in the course of their internship with UNDP.

Applicants for internship must show proof of valid medical and life/accident insurance for the duty station for which they will work. It must include adequate coverage in the event of an injury or illness during the internship which: requires transportation to the Home Country or Country of Residence for further treatment results in death and requires preparation and return of the remains to the Home Country, or Country of Residence.
Subsequent Employment

The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship.

Should an offer of employment be envisaged, a 3-month break, from the end of the internship, must be respected. Interns cannot apply for posts during the period of internship.
UNDP may accept interns providing the following conditions are met:


Enrollment:
  • Enrolled in a bachelors/masters programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) at the time of application and during the internship (if a candidate is graduating before the internship period begins, they are no longer eligible); or
  • Pursuing their university/college studies, having completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages;
  • Not have graduated prior to the beginning of the internship.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in English required. Fluency Somali or in Arabic is an asset;
  • Computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the UN, and of UNDP in particular, and have a personal commitment to UNDP's Statement of Purpose and to the ideals of the UN Charter; and
  • Demonstrated the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

As a research and development foundation, AMREF recognises the dual benefits that can be derived from internship and volunteer attachment programmes. The organisation therefore offers local and international internship and volunteer opportunities. While both volunteer attachments and internships may be part of a learning programme, volunteer opportunities are also offered to out-of-school candidates who may be on sabbatical or who want to contribute to community service.

Policy Statement
Internships at AMREF are defined as structured learning experiences in which interns are exposed to the various aspects of AMREF’s operations and programmes.
All internship placements are based on clearly identified needs driven by the objectives of AMREF’s Business Plan.
AMREF coordinates internships as supervised programmes of work and study based on clearly-defined terms that are mutually beneficial to the intern and to AMREF.
One must apply and be selected in order to join AMREF’s internship programme.

Scope of the Internship Programme
Internships are open to diploma, degree, post-graduate and doctoral students who wish to acquire knowledge and experience of a real work environment to the mutual benefit of both the organisation and the Intern. Interns are fully involved in the work programme of the unit relevant to their studies under the supervision of a responsible staff member.
Interns are expected to contribute their skills, knowledge and competencies while acquiring supplemental training in their areas of specialisation but are not full-time employees. They are not substitutes for full-time staff.

AMREF does not offer any payment for internship.
Internships are normally offered for a period of three but can be extended to a maximum of six months. An intern will work an average of 40 hours per week.

Placement Period
AMREF will accept internship placements twice a year, March and September, for those applying from Africa; and July and October for applicants from outside of Africa
Applications will be processed at least three months in advance of the internship commencement
Available positions will be posted on AMREF’s website during the month of October every year.

Entry Requirements

Potential candidates must:
  • Submit an application to undertake internship training at AMREF. All applications must be submitted to the relevant HR office through the address provided below.
  • The application should specify why the candidate has chosen AMREF for internship, the benefits expected from completing the internship (eg how it fits into the applicant’s studies or career plans), and how this contributes to AMREF’s objectives.
  • The application should indicate specifically:
  • Field of academic specialisation or area in which practical training is required
  • Programme of training approved by the candidate’s institution, where applicable duration of the internship (three or six months)
  • Number of credits required for validation by the candidate’s institution, where applicable
  • The application for internship shall be accompanied by a supporting letter from his/her learning institution, where relevant.
  • In countries where AMREF operates, the application will be forwarded through those AMREF offices if the request is for placement in a different AMREF office.


Selection Criteria
Interns shall be recruited through notices on the AMREF website, indicating the type of interns required, the period of time each is needed, and the deadline for applying for the internship.

Applications and interviews for internships shall be coordinated by the respective HR office in conjunction with the requisitioning programme head or a representative.
Selection will be based on the job description prepared for this purpose and the best suited candidates will be selected.

About the Organization:
The NGO Committee on the Status of Women is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing non-governmental organizations from around the world together to work towards advancing the status of women worldwide.  The Committee has a membership in New York of about 250 individuals representing nearly 100 international NGOs. The Committee is affiliated with the Conference of NGOs (CoNGO) in Consultative Relationship with the UN.

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (NGO CSW/NY) organizes an NGO CSW Forum that includes an NGO CSW Forum Consultation Day and NGO CSW Forum Parallel Events during the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting in New York. The NGO CSW Forum is an open process, a democratic space where boys and girls, men and women can advocate for gender equality, development and peace.
The Committee offers its members in New York monthly meetings and roundtable discussions on issues facing the UN and its specialized agencies that affect the status of women.  In addition, the Committee hosts a listserv for communicating with members, and has a website that reaches women worldwide.  The NGO CSW/NY organizes events for women ambassadors to the UN, the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the international NGO community.

Internship Details:
This yearlong internship requires interns to work 2 to 3 days a week for a minimum of 12-15 hours. Interns will be assigned appropriately to assist the Committee in the preparation of various events and provide support to the NGO CSW/NY office for the upcoming NGO CSW Forum 2014 and UN Commission on the Status of Women session (dates for CSW 58 to be announced). Full-time availability is expected and interns must work for a minimum of 30 hours during the forum. (Preference is given to candidates who can commit to the full-time hours required during the NGO CSW Forum).
