Background
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare official correspondences, including letters of invitation to UN Women’s global events in the context of Beijing +20;
Collect technical information and do research for the organization of global events and assist the logistical work around these events;
Contribute to the drafting, editing and formatting of the bi-weekly update report for all staff.
Conflict Management:Surface conflicts and address them proactively acknowledging different feelings and views and directing energy towards a mutually acceptable solution.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
The intern must have studies in gender studies, international relations, and/or development assistance or other similar subject at the university level;
Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Language:
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
Working knowledge of another UN language a distinct advantage.
Interns are not financially remunerated by UN Women.

Background
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
- Focus on women and girls with disabilities (70% of tasks)
- Assist in the review and appraisal on the rights of women and girls with disabilities;
- Research, compile and analyze data and statistics on women and girls with disabilities;
- Identify and assembly a list of relevant resources and best practices on this topic;
- Support awareness raising, outreach and networking activities;
- Provide and edit outreach materials, policy and brief notes and correspondences;
- Assist in logistical and operational support and provide other assistance as identified during the internship period.

- Strong computer skills, using Microsoft Office, and internet research skills ;
