Programme Support Intern- DRC Regional Office

The AVR approach is currently implemented at the national and community level. At the national level,DDG seeks to support the authorities with small arms management and support peace building and security sector reform initiatives. The community safety approach is rooted in a participatory process, where DDG assists target communities to assess their safety and security situation, define and prioritise their safety and security needs and identify resources to address these needs.

DDG is looking for a highly talented and motivated individual for the position of intern.
 

Purpose
Support the Kenya programme in terms of finance, administration and other programme support functions as well as maintaining programmatic information management system.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monitoring of programme spending
  • Support planning and implementation of project activities
  • Monitor programme compliance with operational handbook
  • Monitor media for developments related to the focus of different DDG projects
  • Any other tasks as agreed with DDG Kenya CD.
Reporting Arrangements
Line manager: DDG Country Director, Kenya
Personal Specifications

  • A university degree in Commerce or Finance management
  • Good interpersonal working relationships
  • Strong planning skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint,Word and Outlook
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new environment.
Preferable
  • Ability to develop and manage databases
  • Ability to develop websites
Duration
The Internship is for a period of 6 months
