Art in Tanzania (AIT) is a self-sustainable Non Government Organization (NGO) registered in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia and Finland. Established in Dar es Salaam in 2001, Art in Tanzania currently has volunteer
and internship centers in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, the Maasai tribal lands, Karatu, and Zanzibar. Over the course of a year, AIT receives over 1,000 volunteers and interns, with approximately 100 volunteers/interns in country at one time. The volunteer’s community work focuses on assisting in Educational, Cultural and Medical projects including Nursery, Primary and Secondary Education assistance, Orphan care, Women’s Groups, HIV awareness, Adult English Classes, Music production, Arts & Handicrafts and Magazine publishing.
